Une cache "drive-in" pour un château datant du XIXe siècle.
En 1600, un des membres de la famille de Sers d'Aulix, seigneur du Volvestre, mourut dans sa maison de Goueytes, sur les ruines de laquelle fut bâti ce château.
Celui-ci est aussi associé à la famille Lartigue de Goueytes : le général de division Lartigue de Goueytes, officier de la Légion d' Honneur, reconstruisit le château au XIXe siècle. Il ne quitta les terres de Goueytes qu'au début du XXe siècle.
Nota : des cartes postales du début du XXe siècle mentionnent la graphie occitane Oueytes, de l'occitan "oeitar" : "regarder".
Le château est bien sûr une propriété privée, à observer depuis la route ! Veuillez NE PAS PENETRER dans le parc. La cache vous attend A L'EXTERIEUR DE la propriété. Merci beaucoup !

A drive-by cache for a château dating from the nineteenth century.
In 1600, one of the members of the Sers d'Aulix family, lord of Volvestre, died in his Goueytes home, on whose ruins this château was built.
It is also associated with the Lartigue de Goueytes family: Major General Lartigue de Goueytes, officer of the Legion d'Honneur, rebuilt the château in the nineteenth century. He only left Goueytes lands in the early twentieth century.
Note: postcards from the early twentieth century mention the Occitan spelling "Oueytes", from Occitan "oeitar": "to look".
Of course, the château is a private property, to be watched from the road. Please, DO NOT GO into the park. The cache awaits you OUT OF the property. Thank you!
