This is the 4th in a series of caches set in the Deroche Lake
area. Gotta warn you again that they are definitely not for
everyone!!
Park at N44 24.672 W077 14.743 at the end of Vanderwater
Road.
The 3500 acres of undeveloped conservation lands are known as
the "Cassidy Tract or " The Old Hungerford Tract," & shown on
Topo maps as MRCA lands. It is administered by the Quinte
Conservation Authority who sometimes leases 750 acre parcels to
hunters.
WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT VENTURE ONTO
THESE LANDS DURING THE HUNTING SEASON, USUALLY THE FIRST TWO WEEKS
OF NOVEMBER!!
You will save yourself some grief if you resist the urge to
go for the cache once you get close. Instead, we recommend that you
go to the beaver dam at N44 24.764 w077 13.608 & then walk
along the side of the marsh to the cache.
Notice the many trees in various stages of being felled by the
busy Deroche beavers...incredibly industrious animals.
Did we say wear rubber boots...or did you bushwack? They've
come in handy so far haven't they!
Good Luck!!!
