Geocache Description:

Easy access. Good parking in all weather. Avoid Sunday morning
church traffic from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Richland Baptist Church was organized in the summer of 1869 on the
banks of Richland Creek, about two miles east of Brinker. Services
were held in a store for three years. In 1872 a crude school house
made of logs was built near the site of where the church now stands
and for eleven years services were held there when the preacher
could come. In 1888 the first Church building was erected near the
place where the church now stands. A new building was built in
1914.

Until 1937 the Church only had fourth-time preaching services.
Under the leadership of pastor Meredith Wyatt it went to half-time
preaching. The church also had a standard Sunday School and the
largest Training Union in the association.

1950 saw another change in the life of the Church. A modern 2
bedroom parsonage was built and a pastor moved on the field. The
Church began having full time preaching services.

With a lot of faith and much prayer to know God’s Will, the
Church went into the erection of the present building in
1954.

In 1983 the church added on the fellowship hall and Sunday school
rooms on the south side of the church.

At some point and time the church changed the name from Richland
Baptist Church to Brinker Community Church. In August of 2006 the
name changed from Brinker Community Church to The Bride. In August
of 2008 the name was change to it current name New Richland Baptist
Church to bring the Church back to its original roots.
