At GZ is a memorial plaque marking the site of the unfortunate death of Fred Nunn who perished in a bush fire on this spot in 1977.
This road was only established in circa 1955 and prior to this was known locally as the No Where Road. Today it is fully bitumenised, linking Eyre and Flinders Highways.
