From parking it is aproximatly a .45 mile easy walk.
Cooks Pond Wildlife Management Area in Plymouth is home to trails, dirt roads, and nature galore.
The reasons for this cache are to replace Pandagram's Gone Fishin' Cache (GCV4AP) and also to tell the story of the "G" on the tree.
Find the first stage and you'll be on your way to the "G" on the tree.
The second stage of this cache is hidden near a tree that has a letter "G" attached to it. The "G" has been there even since my mother was a young girl (I am 50). The pourpose of the "G" on the tree was to guide visitors down the correct side of the fork in the road to the two cottages that my (now deceased) uncle whos name began with G once owned.
As a young boy I remember driving down this road with my grandfather mostly for walks on the trails in the area. My brother and I would always want to be the first to spot the G on the tree.
The third stage is hidden at the site of the first and smaller of the two cottages that where owned by my uncle.
From here, take the pond side trail to the final.
The final and fourth stage is hidden at the site where the main cottage once stood. There are no remnants of this cottage anymore, so the cache marks the spot.
The final does contain what I think is a pretty cool F.T.F. prize...
This is a 4 stage multi, including the final.
Good luck,
M.T. & Boot
Cooks pond has always also been a favorite spot for teenage gatherings and illegal dumping. It is now gated off and can only be accessed on foot or bike. The two cottages my uncle owned became the victims of vandalisim and numerous break ins. The larger cottage was also repeatedly vandalized, broken into and eventually set on fire. I recomend parking in the rear of the parking lot of the Armstrong Skating Rink,103 Long Pond Rd., Plymouth MA
