THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES.
You win the trophy by being the first to find the cache holding
the trophy Once you find the cache and win the trophy, you have 30
days to proudly display the trophy on your desk, kitchen window
sill, or fireplace mantel. On the 30th day (or sooner) after your
find, you must hide the trophy in a NEW cache named FTFC#__. Put
the next sequential number in the ____. Once the FTF trophy has
been found, the caches will remain for other geocachers to visit
the site of a once great championship find! Please remember to log
the TB as it’s log will be the official list of Championship
First Finders. You may win the championship as many times as you
like. This Championship series will also generate a new cache each
time it’s held. So if your not willing to build a new stadium
for the next championship hunt, don’t win the trophy.
NOTE: IT IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL TO TAKE THE TROPHY AND TO
CREATE A NEW CACHE. YOU MAY FIND THE CACHE AT ANYTIME WITHOUT BEING
REQUIRED TO TAKE THE TROPHY AND CREATE A NEW CACHE. JUST LOG THE
CACHE AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD AND LEAVE THE TROPHY IN THE
CACHE.
NOW, ON TO THE PUZZLE!
While on his typical journeys throughout Ireland, St. Patrick
caught wind of a new activity called geocaching. After being beat
out for several FTFs in his local region, he decided to get back at
the cachers by leaving clues for a new cache in each area he
visited on his next set of travels. If the cachers were able to
figure out the clues, they would be rewarded with a nice smiley at
the end of the rainbow. See if you can follow St. Patrick's steps,
figure out the clues, and find his elusive cache!
St. Patrick started his journey by visiting Doolin and listend to the fine
traditional music offered there. Then he made his way over to
Dunmore
Cave to look at the wonderful calcite formations. The next stop
was Glenveagh
Castle where he had a great time reliving the grand history
offered. Still ready for more, he made his way over to Connemara National Park
where he was able to take in the vast scenery and beauty of
Ireland. Inspired by the vistas, he decided to go over to the
Ring of
Kerry to see even more beautiful sights. All of this scenery
made him thirsty, so he trudged over to the Guinness Brewery for a
fine pint! Finally, the first part of his trip coming to a close,
he just had to go and kiss the Blarney Stone for
some good luck!
After a brief rest, St. Patrick made his way over to
St. Mullin's Abbey to see the ancient site offered there. Next
was Kilkenny
Castle to check out the grandeur of the grounds. He was on a
roll now and he decided to sail out to Dalkey Island to
visit the historic and ancient landmarks. Always ready for more
travels, he made his way over to the port city of Cobh where he was able to
spend some time along the sea. After recharging his batteries, he
wandered over to Kell's Priory to
take in the great medieval monuments there. He then made the trek
over to Moville
to visit the shore. His journey nearing a close, he made his way to
Kildare
to see for himself the deep history roots. Finally, after so many
travels, he finished his trip in Athenry to see one final
medieval castle.
