The great thing about geocaching is that it lets us discover places you wouldn’t normally see. That is the case with “Fox Den”. When I was scouting possible cache locations I can across this section of ground between the old Polson Railroad bed and Hillcrest Drive. It was hidden from view by a large embankment and a fox has taken up residence there. It is an active den with very recent footprints in the snow. If you come up on the cache slowly you may get a glimpse of the inhabitants, bring a camera in case. It would be great to have a photo for the cache page.
This is a small cache containing a log book and small pencil and room for geocoins and small items.
The closest park is at the junction of the trail and Hillcrest Drive (47° 41.552’N 114° 08.090’W) There is a small geopark, watch for traffic on the corner. For more exercise, park at the beginning of the trail on 7th Avenue East at (47° 47.357’ N 114° 08.975 W). Enjoy the trail. The FTF prize is a waterproof match container that would make a good cache container.
