Scarcroft and Bardsey Walk #2
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A series of caches on a two and a half mile circular walk between the villages of Scarcroft and Bardsey.
There are six caches and a bonus and is best done as a walk, if you do all six, each has information which will allow you to find the bonus cache.
Parking is available either in Scarcroft or Bardsey, but the best parking to start the walk is by the side of the Wetherby Road at N 53° 52.502 W 001° 26.605, however, there is only a limited number of spaces available here and it is often busy.
Please note this walk can be very muddy, please wear appropriate footwear.
From number 1 continue down the path, at the bottom of the hill follow the path to the right towards the church. Enter the churchyard and go to the right of the church and out of the gate onto Church Lane, go straight ahead up Woodacre Lane. After passing the tennis courts on your left you will see Callister Hall on your right, straight after this is a small white gate, follow the public footpath through this gate.
To the left of this path is the site of a Motte & Bailey. Continue down the path where you eventually turn right on to Cornmill Lane, take a left down Cornmill Close and then follow the path back to the Wetherby Road. Turn right and follow this road (again, please be careful when crossing this road as it is very busy).
