Nella zona di verde compresa nel parco granducale delle Cascine incontriamo l'ippodromo del galoppo della citta' di Firenze, esso ricopre una superficie di 233.000 mq di cui: 12.000 mq per il pubblico, 120.000 mq per le piste da corsa e da allenamento, 15.000 mq di scuderie e la rimanenza utilizzata in vario modo. La pista da corsa ha una lunghezza di 1.961,60 m. ed una larghezza in dirittura d'arrivo di 19,50 m. L'ippodromo dispone di 15.000 posti per il pubblico di cui 2.200 a sedere.
