I’ve been pondering over the idea of hosting an event cache for a couple months now. On the 5th of March, I was in Hampton to do some caching (what else is there to do). My new favorite restaurant had opened up there in the beginning of February so I figured I’d go give it a try. While there, the answer to my question came to me. So here it is –
Where – NASCAR sports grill in Hampton, VA
Power Plant Pkwy (next to saddle ridge, between Bass pro shops and Bjs)
What – Some kind of dinner (see note below) and a good ole time with fellow cachers
When – June 19th @ 6:00 p.m. to whenever
At this time I’m not sure whether the meal will be a buffet or regular menu, the marketing manager is working with me to make this a great event. She’s going to get with her kitchen manager then she’ll get back with me with his/her recommendations. Put this event on your watchlist and check back for details. This will be my first event which I host; I hope it turns out as good as I hope and plan for it to.
As for cachin, there are tons (figuratively speaking) of caches in nearby Newport News and locally in Hampton. There are about 15 caches within about 1 mile of here.
As of May 25th, everything is good to go. I talked to the new marketing manager last week and everything is going as planned. She said to be sure you check in at the hostess stand and youll get a wristband for special drink discounts.
