Baden Powell Cache Traditional Cache

Originally known as Grassybrook Park, the newly named Baden Powel Park is located in the city of Niagara Falls and is just over 55 acres in size.
Named for Baden Powell, who was a lieutenant-general in the British Army. He was also an author who published a book in 1908, entitled Scouting for Boys. which he tested his ideas through a camping trip on Brownsea Island with the local Boys' Brigade and sons of his friends that began on 1 August 1907, which is now seen as the beginning of Scouting.
The Baden Powell Park project began in April of 1998. This project was the first large-scale project the Niagara Restoration Council (NRC) completed (2000).
The project included the enhancement and creation of four different plant communities: oak savannah, woodland, meadow, and prairie ecosystems.
This project was funded almost equally between cash donations and in-kind services. The total cost was $300,000..Environment Canada's EcoAction 2000 Community Funding Program contributed an outstanding $100,000.
The in-kind support for this project was a vital component. Key members of the Project team were: Niagara College, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, Plantscape Niagara, Land Care Niagara, City of Niagara Falls and the many volunteers who came out to help.
Two burns have been done at the park, one on April 22, 2007 and another one approximately one year later. As of today, the plan is to have a 5-7 year burn cycle, as maintenance.
Hopefully, the cache will survive these burns.
The cache is a camouflaged 50 caliber ammo can with lots of room for swag and trackables.
Please rehide the cache properly so it does not get muggled.
