This is a favorite spot for some crab fishing by many locals and
visitors alike. Driving back to our house in Colington Harbour we
often see quite a few people out during the summer. There is ample
parking at the end of Schoolhouse Ln and a path along the
water.
Crabbing is easy and cheap. What you'll need is a net, crab
line, a package of chicken necks, and a tall bucket. Put a portion
of a neck on the hook at the end of the line and close it up. Toss
out into the sound and bring it back in slowly. Scoop up the crab
with the net before he drops off.
My niece Angelina was a pro at this last summer (5 years old). I
was amazed that some of those crabs weren't water skiing with as
fast as she'd pull them in. She still would catch the biggest and
most each time we went out.
