Geocache Description:

Another simple cache, a bit bigger than 1 and 2, in a small place!

This is third in a series of caches placed around Hutton Buscel.

The big question is who was the first cacher? Well I have uncovered information that we may well have had an early cacher from this village, read on…..

Mary Baines Brown was born in Hutton Buscel on 31 March1815. She married, also in Hutton Buscel on 21 September 1835 and was blessed (!) with seven children. With her husband and children she then emigrated to………Cache County, Wellsville, Utah, USA.

Unfortunately 3 of her children died on the trek across the plains, Mary Agnes at 6yrs, Henrietta at 3 and Rebecca at 11 months. Happily her other children lived into old age, Jemima was 75 years old, Sarah Ann was 80, Emily Alice was 82 and Caroline was 92.

Mary’s Father is William Cook Brown, who was born in Scarborough and who died on 9 December 1853, buried in Hutton Buscel Churchyard. Also on the same Headstone is her Mother, Sarah Baines, born 15 December 1775 and died 4 January 1862.

While you are here take a look behind you and admire the beautiful lychgate of the Church. The public footpath goes through the Churchyard and out the other side - a handy short cut for some!

Little did they guess all those years ago that we would all be running about looking for little boxes and calling it a sport!!!!

Please ensure you put this cache back in the same place you found it and ensure it cannot be seen by muggles. There is no need to remove or damage anything. It is not in the wall

Congratulations to The Walking Wallies and beachdrifter on getting FTF.
