E4 - In the shade Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

HackiB: We now archive most of our caches because we can no longer get around to maintain them. We’ve had a great time, it’s been fun, but unfortunately this is where we have to stop.

Geocache Description:

E4 - In the shade

The E4 is a long distance path of some 10,500 km criss-crossing all the countries in Europe. In 2005 a Cyprus section of 640 km was added. Part of it goes along this dramatic stretch of the northern coast in Akamas, and we think it would be a good place to start a series of caches along the route.

To get here we recommend that you leave your car in the car park at Aphrodite's Bath (N35°03.369 E032°20.806) and hike the rest. If you have a 4WD vehicle it is possible to drive all the way, but it is not encouraged and, please be warned that you go at your own risk on some hairy roads.

When you have reached this cache, you will probably be in need of a little rest and where better to take it than here in the shade of a big tree by a small fountain. The cache is a nano, so please bring a pen to log your visit.

Please note!

There have been some strange logs of late, maintaining that this cache was neither nano nor magnetic.
Well, first let me assure you all that the cache is still both nano and magnetic and that it is alive and well in it's original place.

Now for an explanation of the peculiar logs. It appears that Geocaching is not the only hide-and-seek-game around, and it so happens that somebody playing a French variety (www.ciste.net) took a fancy to the location and placed his/her own container not too far from our nano. He/she was, of course, unaware of our cache. What a coincidence!

In the light of the above we will allow those who have already logged the wrong cache to count it as a find of "In the Shade", but from now on any logs pertaining to the Ciste d'Aphrodite will be removed from our cache.

And also!

We ask you to please replace the nano in its correct place and not move it to a more obvious location. It is rated '3' and should be a bit difficult to find.

PLEASE NOTE: We have removed the bogus cache that someone, who didn’t find the correct one, placed there. We ask everyone to kindly refrain from putting their own container here instead of logging a DNF or no log at all.
