This final cache should be a fun one to discover and retrieve. Use
caution while searching for it. Watch your step! Remember the
lessons you have learned: Seal it properly, replace it
carefully.
Lesson #8 of the
Geo Skills Trail: Cache hides come in many types
and are found in a variety of environments. The creativity of you,
the cacher, is the only limit. Geocaching is about the journey, the
adventure, the sights and sounds along the trail. It is about the
logs signed, the items traded, goals achieved, and about the
friends you shared it with. Where will your next adventure take
you? Perhaps here!
About the Geo Skills
Trail:
This trail is a joint effort between the Oxley Nature Center and
Tulsa Area Geocachers. The
caches along the trail provide a variety of cache types, sizes and
styles to help educate and introduce the hobby of Geocaching to new
cachers. And of course, these caches will be fun for veteran
cachers as well. And who doesn't enjoy a nice walk in the woods?
While hiking the trail please be sure to practice CITO (Cache in,
Trash out). TAG has adopted the North
Woods Loop trail as a service project to thank Oxley Nature
Center and Tulsa Parks for allowing and encouraging Geocaching in
the parks system. As your personal CITO of the trail is part of
this service, please be sure to post your experiences along the
trail in one of your logs.
Besides the 8 designated Geo Skills Trail caches, there are also
several other caches in the trail system, including an Earthcache,
Puzzle Cache and several traditional caches, and many more
throughout Mohawk Park. Enjoy your walk and be sure to take time to
observe the nature all about you.
Remember, Mohawk Park's
gates open at 7 am and close at 9 pm! On weekends, April 1 -October
31, you'll need to bring $2/vehicle to enter Mohawk Park, unless you
are a member of Friends of Oxley Nature Center or Zoo Friends. Pets
are not allowed on the Nature Center trails, but leashed ones can
enjoy other parts of Mohawk Park.
