Das Pfinstamarktkreuz wurde gemeinsam mit 170 anderen "unbeweglichen Denkmalen" des Bezirkes Neusiedl am See 2001 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt und ist frisch renoviert. Es wird auch Pfingstenarktkreuz genannt und gehört zur Gemeinde Halbturn. Im Web wird von einer Wüstung gesprochen, also einem Ort, der mal besiedelt war und vor langer Zeit (vor der Neuzeit) aufgegeben wurde (hieß auch Phintzagmarkht). Politische Ursachen (ungarische Landnahme) scheinen da auch eine Rolle gespielt zu haben.
Mitten im Nirgendwo gelegen ist es jedoch ein beschaulicher Platz mit schöner Rundumsicht, ein paar Bäumen und Sitzbänken.
The Whitsunmarket cross has been declared a historic monument in 2001 together with 170 other monuments in the district of Neusiedl am See. Historically it refers to an old land settlement which has been abandoned hundreds of year ago already.
Located in the middle of nowhere it is a peaceful place with a nice view, some shading trees and benches.
