Geocache Description:

This cache is a camouflaged 1 lb coffee can with log book and small trade items. There is a presidential gold dollar for the FTF. Please rehide this one well as it looks like it is a popular area in the summer.

A nice little park and campground on the edge of Kingston, it is right next to the small Percha creek. This is just a small trickle most of the time, but can be a raging creek in times of heavy rain or spring runoff like may occur this year with the snow we have up higher. Creek is usually fairly easy to cross as there are a lot of big boulders to step on. Kingston is pretty much an old ghost town any more although there are quite a few residents living here. Many are retirees. At One time when silver was discovered here in the 1870's there were as many as 7000 people here. Hard to believe. There were also many Indians in the area at the time and caused quite a few conflicts over the years. This is also a popular birding area and NM birding trail 32 starts here. Congratulations to sf1373 on FTF.
