This spot provides a great view of Globe Arizona. Globe was founded in 1875 as a mining camp and was named for a globe shaped piece of silver found nearby. Globe was incorporated in 1876 and became the county seat for Gila County in 1881. The original mining activity in the area was for silver but later shifted to copper which still continues today.
