The Start of Geocaching:
May 1, 2000 - President Clinton declares the end of Selective Availability
May 2, 2000 - Selective Availability turned off
May 3, 2000 - First "stash" (cache) hidden by Dave Ulmer

So you went to GC26860 - April Showers . . . Bring Hats?? on Thursday Night? Because you didn't have an appropriate chapeau, you purchased the perfect lid? And now you're bemoaning the fact that you spent all that money and are thinking about returning it since you only wore it once??? STOP!!! Don't return it or put it away . . . have I got the perfect event for you! Slap that bowler, bonnet, tam or stetson back on yer noggin and trip on over to Silver Lake's Alfys and help us celebrate 10 years of the wacky world of geocaching. (Rumor has it that there's a new icon in the works for this! ) The best noggin cover will be decided upon via some unscientific and irreverent method as yet to be decided upon by the COs. Oh . . . and don't expect a pop quiz! ;-)

Door Prizes? Yes, indeed! The drawing will be held just before the photo. (You must be present to win.)Tickets will be free, but limited to one per person. There will be a number of prizes, included a very special hand-made donation from a long time local cacher, made by another even longer-time once-upon-a-time local cacher.
