Poole Quay Pictorial Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

FrenziedFrog: Unfortunately it appears that the hiding place is not there any more, so it's best that this is archived. If anyone has worked out the final coordinates, I'd be happy to check them for you.
I might try to set up a replacement some time.

Geocache Description:

If you want a guided tour of Poole Quay, look no further! Find the locations, answer the questions, calculate the final location and Robert is your mother’s brother!

I love challenging caches and one of my favourites is Cardiff Pictorial (GCHJXW), by Write and Main. This is my attempt to produce a slightly less complicated version, based on Poole Quay. Beware, however, it is still fairly challenging and should test your powers of observation!

The scenes in the 20 pictures – A to T – are all to be found at Poole Quay, at locations between the Lifeboat Museum (W1°58.875’) and the Lifting Bridge (W1°59.565’); all should be visible from the Quay itself; none is further than 50m away from the water edge, most are a lot nearer. The final picture (Z) is a montage of all the individual ones, in case it is easier to carry around.

When you find each location, answer its question and keep a note of the answer. After finding them all work out the sums to find the hiding place. There are plenty of places to take refreshment while you do this -if you prefer caffeine to alcohol I recommend Deli on the Quay - their pastries are yummy!

The given location is for the entrance to the Harbourside Car Park (pay and display). From here it is a short, pleasant walk along the shoreline to the Lifeboat Museum at the start of the Quay. An alternative car park is at N50°42.772’; W1°59.169'. The Quay is also public transport accessible – the Route 1 bus service links the Quay with Poole train and bus stations. There should be no problems for wheelchair, cycle and buggy cachers – everywhere is paved and virtually level. One answer might be difficult for wheelchair users – I’d be pleased to assist via email if that would help. Help is also likely to be needed at the final location.

The final location is often quite busy, so care will probably be needed. The cache is a small cylindrical container, 16cm long and 7cm across. There is room for small swops. It might be useful to bring a short stick, such as a 30cm ruler, to help retrieve and return the container. Please re-seal the container carefully and make sure that it is not visible to passers-by.
