Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small bison tube and will need to bring your own pen/pencil for the logbook.

Sutton Poyntz is a pretty little hamlet best discovered for yourself. A potted history is available at (visit link) if you are interested. Of note is the use of a ship's funnel from the 'Great Eastern' as a water filtration plant, which is still in use to this day, as depicted on the pub sign for the Springhead PH.

Preston is really a suburb of Weymouth now but this route takes you through the older part of Preston before reaching the cache More information is available at (visit link)

Parking is tight in Sutton Poyntz unless using the car park for the Springhead PH, noting that this is for customers only.

The starting point is outside Wessex waterworks.

Where would you call to find out about the old water – 01225 uvwxvy?

Rather than follow the road to this first waypoint, a stroll down Silver Street (a walk to the right of the millstream) is recommended. Both routes will bring you to the same point.

Victoria may not be around any more but she still provides the clue – DTr st

Stage 2 is at (N50 38.(t-1)(r+s)(r-1), W002 25.(r-s)(t/2)(t))
The route to the next waypoint takes you along a busy narrow road with no footpath and then re-crosses the main A353 so please take care.
