BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO TWO OF WALTON COUNTY'S FINEST:
nanastone and MarkMan78
and a future finest Littlerock3 FOR THE FTF!!!
By now, many people on this side of town know that Nanastone is employed with the Walton County Sheriffs Department. Some of us know how much fun it is to be around her, especially when hunting for caches. I decided to hide a cache dedicating it to Nanastone and our W.C.S.D. in honor of what a great job they do in our county.
It is just another day at the Walton County Sheriffs Department when Nanastone receives a notification of a new cache publishing on her smart phone. She really wants to be the first one to find the cache, and treats the situation like an Emergency. She decides to sneak out of the office and grabs a radio on the way out the door.
She speeds off and soon after runs into a small traffic jam. She notices that it is being caused by a malfunctioning light. She turns off to take a back road and makes a call to the dispatcher notifying them of a Traffic Light Out At the intersection of the problem area. The dispatcher radios back and asks for Nanastone to please Repeat the last transmission. After Nanastone transmits the information again, the dispatcher tells her that she will need to Relay the message to the county's department of transportation. Not wanting to use her cell phone behind the wheel, Nanastone asks the dispatcher to Relay the message for her.
So on she goes towards the new cache location using extreme Caution. Out of old habits, she grabs the microphone of her radio to let the dispatcher know that she is In Service. She pushes the button, but then realizes what she was about to do. She let go the button to Stop Transmitting before she says a word.
While continuing down the road, Nanastone hears a call on the radio about a Road Blocked At... The radio transmission broke up and she did not hear where the road block was located. She calls back on the radio asking for the dispatcher to Repeat the last transmission. Nanastone hears the message and radios back an Acknowledgment. Thankfully the situation will not affect her drive to the new cache.
Having finally reached her destination, Nanstone gets out of her car and makes a short hike to the cache location. Along the way, there is lots of poison ivy and many briers. So using Caution, Nanstone works her way around all of the hazards and makes a quick find of the container. But was she the first to find the cache container? Only she will be able to answer that question.
Good luck on the hunt.
