Geocache Description:

Ladies and Gentlemen, you are cordially invited to join your host, Mr Muttoneer, as he samples tea and cakes atop a windswept Pennine hilltop!

Please allow me to elucidate further concerning the festivities which your erstwhile host has in store...

The event begins at 2pm on Saturday 15th May 2010 and finishes at 3.30pm. There are several excellent geocaches in the vicinity and so attendees will have plenty of time to combine this event with some cache hunting. There is also a trigpoint within feet of the event location!

You should be aware that the venue for this tea party is somewhat wild and windswept. It lies on a high moorland section of the Pennine Way and may most easily be approached from the north (The White House Inn on Blackstone Edge) or from the south (Windy Hill car park, just off the M62).

Photographs of the location can be seen on geograph.org.uk

Please be aware that sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing are a must if you want to attend this event - the conditions on the Pennines can change rapidly and you should be prepared for every eventuality. However in addition to this, guests should also ensure they are suitably attired for attending a formal tea party... this means smart clothing please! There will be a prize for the best dressed cacher.

You will also need to bring a mug (or teacup) with you!

All attendees will be provided with a nice cup of tea and a cake or biscuit, however I would welcome as many attendees as possible bringing some home baking with them to share with their fellow cachers. If you've got a great recipe you'd like to show off, or always wanted to try your hand at making shortbread, this is the time to do it!

If you intend to come along, please note in your log how many people you'll be bringing, so I can ensure enough water is brought along.

I look forward to seeing you all on May 15th!

...and here is a photo of my guests, it was a pleasure to share excellent views and marvellous home baking with you all!
