Geocache Description:

Short and simple multi stage ending in a cache large enough for TB and geocoins. Stage one is a small footlocker like scouts take to Summer Camo. Think SMALL.

Boy Scout Troop 431 has been chartered by the Roswell United Methodist Church on Mimosa Boulevard since 1966. I came up with the idea for this cache in the fall at our anniversary Court of Honor when I realized it was the Troop’s 43rd year. Holidays got in the way so the cache was tabled for a bit. It's been here so long that next it now should be called 53 years for Troop 431.!! This is a simple 2 stage multi. The coordinates listed take you to the youth center, which the church allows the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts to use. We did meet in the Scout Hut, but it was demolished for a new building so I had to move Stage one to a new location. Troop 431 meets here on Monday nights at 7:00. Feel free to stop in if you are so inclined. The troop size is about 45 scouts at most times and has a very active calendar. The boys backpack, canoe, climb, hike, explore caves, challenge each other to cook offs and produce their fair share of high quality Eagle Scouts. They even have a sister Troop now, Girls troop 432 was started in 2019 and I am the Scoutmaster for the Girls. This is a very high muggle area as the church is a very active one. Wander up and sit for a spell under the beautiful trees which shade the area. You will gain insight here as to the remaining coordinates for stage two. It is a fairly short walk on the church campus to the second stage. You can drive up to the second stage but as this is a congested area at times, I suggest you take a stroll. Sunday before 1 pm is not a good time to search this one. I have been told Wednesday afternoon is also busy right there. The cache is a fairly large lock ‘n Lock covered in camo tape. It has plenty of room for geocoins, TB and assorted kid friendly trade items. I wanted to place a cache that could serve as a future quick drop off point for trackables since a lot of the finds in the area are micros. Cache is initially stocked with a variety of Boy Scout related items, patches and a few TB’s like a Pinewood derby car TB heading to National Jamboree and a Pillar of Scouting TB. A monkey fist key fob is there for the FTF. This is a symbol with special importance to the troop. Raised difficulty to 3 due to Stage One seeming to elude people. FTF goes to Axmantis. Congratulations!!!
