Hooked on Pie Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

J & K: We are sorry that we have to archive this cache. The Little Hooker Restaurant is closed and they have removed the sign where the cache was hidden. We don't have time to verify that the cache is gone before leaving for the winter, so if someone stops at the entrance to the driveway and sees a decon container hanging from the post, please feel free to not only log the cache but also to take the cache with them and place it elsewhere. The proprietor has been struggling with cancer for a number of years and is now unable to manage the restaurant. Some of the family tried to keep it going, but it was more than they could handle. It's a big loss to our community and we will always remember the great pies. Thanks to those who solved the puzzle, found the cache, and stopped for a piece of pie. J & K

Geocache Description:

This is near a place where we occasionally eat dinner. The food is good, prices even better. But the highlight of any meal is the pie that follows our meal.

Let’s get to the pie part of the equation. I am trying to decide on a list of my favorites and have come up with the following: Blackberry is my number 1 favorite although I didn’t discover this until a few years ago. One of J’s favorites is coconut cream pie but I would only rate that an 11 on my list. Apple would be number 5. Strawberry pie is pretty yummy but since it is best with fresh berries and not always available I would give that a number 7. Much further down the list is Key Lime pie at number 12.

J’s list would include coconut cream at number 2, slightly behind pecan at number one. Way down his list would be lemon cream pie at number 14. You can guess that he wouldn’t order that. Somewhere in the middle, after careful consideration, would be banana cream at number 9. Pumpkin pie would definitely be number 3 on his list and to complete his top five picks he would place peach at number four, followed by cherry at number five. Dead last on his list would be mincemeat pie at number 15.

As you can see, it is much easier to go to a restaurant to eat our favorite pies than try to please both of us by baking at home.

We are providing the degrees and you can find the numbers you need for the rest of the puzzle above: Your coordinates are as follows:

37 xx.xxx
96 xx.xxx

The first to find gets a $5.00 gift certificate for a piece of pie and coffee. Please don’t take the gift certificate unless you are going to use it at the Little Hooker. Make the fair trade, one for one. Now, do yourself a favor and go have a piece of pie. This cache is placed with the owner’s permission, but please do not hunt for it at night.
