Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache with clues to solve in order to find the final cache which is in a 2L plastic container with lots of things to trade – good luck!!

The Cattle Trail N52 05.699 E001 03.052 Lower Somersham covers an area of approximately 1000 acres and lies 5½ miles west of Ipswich in Suffolk, close to the small market towns of Hadleigh and Needham Market. A small stream runs to the north of the village. This is a circular walk covering one end of the village to the other and you will need to gather the necessary co-ordinates before heading off-road to find the cache. As Somersham is in a valley, all the footpaths go ‘up’ so there are lovely views over the village and surrounding countryside. In the past, the footpaths of Somersham linked farms and neighbouring villages and there is still an excellent network of footpaths in the area, providing opportunities for extended circular walks. The footpath leading from Chapel Lane was once a track for driving livestock to the local cattle market, which used to be in nearby Hadleigh. The co-ordinates given are for the starting point and not the location of the cache.
