Geocache Description:

Sherri McLaughlin

In the early morning hours of Sunday Sept. 19, 1993, Sherri Mclaughlin was riding her bicycle to the home of her ex-boyfriend, but never arrived. Her backpack and mangled bike were later found along the side of the road on Parkcrest Avenue. Police said the bike appeared to have been run over by a vehicle. There was no sign of a struggle and no fisical evidence such as blood or torn clothing to suggest Sherri had been struck by a hit-and-run driver. Sherri was 20 years old and had a one year old son at the time. She has now been missing for more than 16 years. A memorial now stands where her bike was found.

In 2009, the RCMP revealed new evidence and claimed to know the person responsible for Sherri's disappearance. They would not name the suspect but said he is already in jail on unrelated charges. The man has been declared a dangerous offender by the courts and has been behind bars for 10 years in a Lower Mainland prison. The suspect is not cooperating with the police in revealing the whereabouts of Sherri.

May the final piece to the puzzle be found soon that allows Sherri to come home.
