After the success of our last flash mob gathering in Wollongong,
it's time for WWFM VII. This one will be in the Crown Street Mall
in downtown Wollongong.
The Flash Mob gathering of geocachers will be only 15 minutes
long. You MUST be present and sign the log sheet
DURING this time to claim this event. After 15
minutes…we're gone!
The event is one small part of the WWFM VII (World Wide Flash
Mob event) co-ordinated and in conjunction with the San Diego WWFM
VII hosted by iTrax and FoxTail but since Australia is some 17
hours ahead of Pacific Time rather than holding our event
simultaneously with the US event at 3:00am on Sunday morning this
event is at a much more civilised time.
For this event please come dressed in
RED.
The Plan: At exactly 10:00am (as determined by the GPS
clock) all geocachers will converge, seeming to come out of
"nowhere". Before that time cachers should not be hanging around
the listed co-ordinates.
One volunteer will hand out "log sheets" and participants will
sign the log sheets (which will later become a log book) and drop
them in a designated collection bucket.
In the meantime, cachers are free to catch up and share a short
yarn or two.
At a designated time, we will take a group photo and at
precisely 10:15 the bucket, and the log sheets will be packed up
and sealed away. The event area will be vacated without a trace!!!
Events that happen after 10:15:01 do not count as part of THIS
event. Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets
may log the event.
Things to note
* Although participants are welcome to get together after the
event, the event will officially be over at 10:15. Afterwards, at
the meeting, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of
caching!!! I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will
wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of
the fun!)
* Parking is at a bit of a premium (and may cost) in and around
town so leave enough time to find some if you're driving.
* Don't bring travellers unless their your own that you'd like
to log in and out of the event- there isn't enough time to track
them at the event and last time a couple went MIA!
