Geocache Description:

Come on out for a major milestone in the history of this great sport...

Its the 10-year anniversary for...
GEOCACHING!

HISTORY OF GEOCACHING

Sunday, May 2, 2010
1:00 - 3:00pm
Richland Park Picnic Pavilion #2
Portland, Tennessee

To my knowledge, this is the first event ever held in Portland, Tennessee. I couldn't think of a better time for Portland to have such an honor than on Geocaching's 10th birthday.

In addition to this, I will be leaving the area at the end of this month...and I have unfortunately not had the privilege to meet many of the cachers in this area. Therefore, this event will be a celebration of Firsts, Geocaching, and Farewells.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

In honor of the special Geocaching birthday, I would like everyone to dress in Geocaching colors. Not sure what the Geocaching colors are? Well, use this for an example:

I would like for everyone to wear a solid color shirt.....pick ONE color, and go with it! ***Your 'will attend' log should be posted in the color shirt you will be wearing.*** For example, if you will wear blue, then post like this:
[ blue ] I am coming, and I will be wearing a blue shirt! [ / blue ]

BONUS FEATURE - All attendees of this, and other official 10 year Geocaching events will receive a BRAND NEW UNIQUE ICON on your stats that looks something like this:

ONE LAST REQUEST - For me, the ultimate birthday party food has to be pizza...and nobody makes pizza like PaPa Johns! SO....I am willing to order pizza if attendees are willing to donate a few dollars to the pizza fund. Include your thoughts in your 'will attend' log.

***FLOOD WARNING!***

Despite the 10"+ of rain that this area has seen in the last couple days, we managed to meet the 10 Year requirement by the skin of our teeth. Thank you to each of the thirteen geocachers who came out and took part in this historic day in Portland, Tennessee.
