Geocache Description:

The cache is part of the Virginia State Parks Wildlife Card Activity. Cache begins at the Hillsman’s House parking lot and leads through the open fields and edges of the woods. Travel will be up and down hills on the site; park trails; and a short walk along Saylers Creek Road involving a crossing of the bridge – remember to walk facing traffic and along the edge of the road.. Caching activity only available during daylight hours.

This is a 4-stage cache. All stages except stage 3 are clear plastic regular boxes with geocaching.com label.  You will easily find stage 3, but it is not a container.  It is about a 2 mile walk if you park in one spot, but you can save some walking by driving to a closer parking lot for stages 3 and 4. Cache boxes contain information about the battlefield including maps to orient the visitor to the site; next waypoint or cache location; final cache box holds log, and wildlife card.

This cache is part of the Virginia State Parks Geocaching Wildlife Adventure. Each state park has a cache for this series, each with a unique collector’s card. There are small prizes for finding 5, 10, 20, and ALL of the caches. Most parks require a small parking fee while geocaching. For more information go to: www.virginiaoutdoors.com.
