Geocache Description:

A magnetic nano hidden in the only village in Glasgow, Carmunnock. This is a beautiful wee place & well worth a wander around - it doesn't take long!

Beyond Mitchells Restaurant is the War Memorial, built by Mr William Stirling Stuart, Laird of Castlemilk. It was dedicated in 1922. His son, James Stirling Stuart, was killed in 1914, and heads the list of the Fallen of the First World War. One hundred and seventeen men from the parish fought in the war, thirteen of whom were killed.

The metal bowl of the Memorial was originally a horse trough and a special commemoration for Lieutenant Stirling Stuart’s love of horses.

The Memorial also lists the names of the nine men of the Parish who were killed in the Second World War.
