Geocache Description:

Come celebrate the 10th anniversary of geocaching with your fellow Santa Cruz geocachers!

We have reserved some picnic tables at Roaring Camp Railroads. Festivities will start at 11am and go until everyone leaves. There is a BBQ area we can use, and there are restrooms nearby.

UPDATE: Due to the rain over the last week, our event has been moved to the main BBQ pits at Roaring Camp Railroads. This is closer to the restrooms and the main buildings. I have requested some tables with shade as well.

We will have charcoal for BBQing, feel free to bring things to cook! We'll bring some hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers, but if people bring food it will be a huge help. You're on your own for drinks, other than water.

To get the special icon, we will need to take a group picture. The picture will happen at noon so there's time for people to leave and take the train if they'd like afterwards!

There will be a raffle! Prizes include t-shirts, geocoins, travelbug tags, and other groundspeak shwag. Everyone who shows up gets a raffle ticket, extras are available for purchase to help offset the cost of the event! $1 per ticket, or 6 tickets for $5. Winners will be drawn throughout the event.

Santa Cruz has a unique version of the 10 year anniversary geocoin which we will be selling at the event for $10. For every coin purchased, you get two more raffle tickets!

Parking does cost money at Roaring Camp, although there is an overflow lot that's a bit further of a walk that's free. It may be full. Additionally, you can also park at Henry Cowell next door and it's a short walk in. They also charge for parking unless you have a state park pass.

The trains will be running this weekend. It does cost money.
Narrow gauge train to Bear Mountain (1:15 round trip) : Departs at 11:00, 12:30 & 2:00
Beach train leaves to the boardwalk at: 10:30 am and 2:30 pm
Return trips at: 12:30 and 4:30pm.
