The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but if you go
there you'll be near such Park Slope institutions as the Squad One FDNY
firehouse and the local food coop.
You're looking for a black bison tube. Bring a pen, and some
tweezers for log removal.
Congrats to JohnnyKay on the "First to Solve" and to

Update: The "William Kitts" series was nominated for "Best
Series" in the 2010 Metro GC Awards! Thanks everyone!

As a token of thanks for helping him solve the William Kitts
puzzles, Sam generously gave me his great-uncle's pocket watch, a
beautiful Hamilton 992B 21 Jewel Railway Special.
Since I couldn't wind it, I took the watch to an horologist to
get it repaired. I stopped by a few days later to see if it was
ready. "Well," he said, "I found out why it wouldn't work." And he
gave me a scrap of paper that had been secreted inside the watch.
Here's what each side looks like:

Given everything else I'd seen from William Kitts, I was pretty
sure this wasn't just a reminder to meet someone for coffee.
I cannot find any significance to the date or the time --
nothing terribly important seems to have happened on February 27th
1995 at 1:33 pm. Sam didn't recall anyone named "Miles Smoot." I
went to Polhemus and Fiske, Kitts' old law firm, but they had no
record of either Smoot or any dealings with Kitts on or near that
day. There are 12 people with the last name "Smoot" in the New York
telephone directory, but none of them named Miles.
I've figured that the "X" on the map is at the coordinates N
40.674665 W 073.976285. The rest is up to you.
