On the rocky decommissioned ATV trail alongside route 44.
This is a small lock n lock container hidden on the decommissioned ATV trails along side route 44. Its a decent hike, but the view is quite nice when the vegetation grows in. This cache is called "Lost Horizons" because of the view of the horizon on the hills, and how it appears and disappears as you traverse this trail. Original cache contents include a log book, and some nic-nacs.
A note about parking: There is an obvious place to pull over on the west bound side of rt. 44. From here walk up (westbound) to the 45 mph sign and turn right to gain access to the trail. The seasons take a toll on this trail since it isn't officially maintained, but your route should be evident even through debris.
