Geocache Description:

Rage
It is anger, taken to the extreme, and then pumped up a few more notches. Rage is so intense and blinding, that logic escapes and our actions are driven by pure basic and destructive impulse.

WELCOME TO THE RED LANTERN CORPS!

Emotion: Rage
Color: Red
Notable members: Atrocitus, Laira, Vice, and Dex-Starr (a blue cat)

Base of operations: Ysmault (sector 666)

The Guardians' first police force, the robot Manhunters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhunters decided that the best way to maintain order was by destroying all life in the Universe. This lead to "The Massacre of Sector 666" in which they destroyed all life within that sector, except five survivors who form a terrorist cell bent on the destruction of the Guardians. One of those survivors, Atrocitus, eventually becomes so full of anger, that his rage forms the Red Power Battery from a lake formed by the blood of the rest of his terrorist cell.

Recruits are selected from beings who have become "consumed by rage". These are the "monsters and demons" in the War of Light.

When you become a Red Lantern, your heart dies, your blood boils and explodes. your blood is then replaced by the red energy of rage, which is constantly boiling and can be seen being forcibly expelled from your mouth, burning whatever it touches. Red Lanterns are so angry and consumed by their rage, that they cannot form a logical thought and they cannot form energy constructs, relying sole on their red energy's destructive power. Removing a Red Lantern's ring results in that being's instant death, which can be reversed by a Blue Lantern's (Hope) ring. So grab a power gem, and feel the rage! WELCOME TO THE RED LANTERN CORPS!

The living embodiment of rage is an unnamed "crimson creature of absolute rage and anger".

The Red Lantern Oath:

"With blood and rage of crimson red,
Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead,
Together with our hellish hate,
We'll burn you all--That is your fate!"

You are near the Hell Gate Bridge, which is painted "Hell Gate Red", and might have originally been named "Hell's Gate" due to the very hazardous currents of the nearby waterway.

NOTE: There is a Red Lantern ring with the log book for the FTF. Please post a pic with your ring!
