WELCOME TO THE WHITE LANTERN CORPS

The living embodiment of the White Light is known as "The Entity", a being created by and composed of the flash of light that created the Universe. All life in the Universe is somehow connected to The Entity. When the Entity is attacked, all life in the Universe feels it.

Green Lantern Hall Jordan realizes that the Entity needs a "driver" to host it's power, but before he can take that power, Sinestro jumps ahead and claims it. He says he will be the "Greatest Lantern ever" and that the Universe needs him. The Entity simply says "Thaal Sinestro of Korugar. Destiny awaits."

You are standing near the Arthur Ross Nursery in the northeast section of Van Cortlandt Park. Arthur Ross was a philanthropist who sat on the board of the Central Park Conservancy. There's also an excellent story about the Survivor Tree that came here covered in ash and nearly destroyed in the 9/11 attacks, that has been restored to full beauty with it's white blossoms.
UPDATE: The Survivor Tree has been replanted (December 29, 2010).
