Geocache Description:

Celebrate 10 Years Of Geocaching With A Breakfast-Brunch, Birthday Bash!

Happy Birthday Groundspeak! On May 1st and 2nd, Groundspeak will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Geocaching! Who would have thought back when President Clinton turned off "selective availability" that a game that is so much fun for people of all ages would be born? If you do not know the history of geocaching, or if you just want a refresher, you can read about it here.

Everyone is welcome to join in this celebration of 10 years of Geocaching, so whether you are a new player, a seasoned veteran, or somewhere in between, come out and share some stories, and discuss your favorite caches. As you can tell by the description, this is a birthday party, so be prepared to be festive!

The event will take place on Saturday, May 1st, at the Greene Township Building from 9:00AM till Noon. The facility is located on Tate Road just south of I-90, and is easily accessible from Lake Pleasant Road or PA State Route 8. There is plenty of room for parking. The posted coordinates are for the park entrance-way.

The site also has a playground for the kids, with lots of room to roam about.

Doughnuts, coffee, and juice will be served. For additional eats, please bring something to share. There is a full kitchen for our use and restrooms are available inside the facility.

The event is free, but we will be taking donations to offset the cost of the facilities.

Temporary and/or regular caches will be available for attendees to find and log, and we hope to have a few door prizes to give away as well. And don't forget to bring travel bugs/coins/etc. to be discovered or swapped. Please be sure to sign the log book.

Update on 4/27: We have set 14 new permanent caches in the nearby gamelands and surrounding area which will be available to attendees on 5/1. There are also 3 more permanent caches near the event site, for a grand total of 17 new permanent caches for the event. There will also be one special temporary cache for kids at the event site as well.

Update on 5/1: Special Birthday Wishes to Dudeacus who celebrated his birthday with us at the event!

Update on 4/30: There is apparently some sort of trash recycle event going on at the township building on the same day as our event. Not sure what that is going to mean in terms of parking, etc. We will do the best we can.

Update on 4/22: We will have at least 6 door prizes which will include:
*One Micro Container & Geocache Sticker.

*Another Micro Container & Geocache Sticker.
*An Unactivated Trackable Event Geocoin.
*Unactivated Travel Bug Tag & a Pen
*Another Unactivated Travel Bug Tag & a Pen
*A Fully Stocked Ammo Box with Swag & Official GC Logbook

Please log a "Will Attend" if you are planning on coming so we have an idea of how many cachers are coming.
