We have placed this cache in memory of E of DEMOLINEUX’s childhood pet, a cat named Pickles.
Pickles was a wonderful and friendly grey cat. I used to live nearby in the area in which we have placed the cache. It was quite remote back then, as Gomersal Road was still a dirt track.
One day I decided that Pickles wanted to come on a picnic with me. I placed a cardboard box on the dinky tray on my pushbike. I made air holes, placed Pickles the cat inside the box and shut it. But she kept jumping out as soon as the bike moved. I then had a brainwave and decided it was in Pickles’ best interest that I tape the box shut with sticky tape! So off we both went, cat and picnic in box, taped shut. Riding up the dirt road on a nice peaceful, sunny day, on the way to our picnic in the trees.
I don’t think Pickles ever looked at me the same way once we had arrived home and I let her out of her box…
