in our disclaimer.
The Newlands interchange was opened in August 1998, aiding the flow of north bound traffic on SH1 by eliminating a traffic light controlled intersection at the top of Ngauranga Gorge. For a twist on words, the interchange also lies directly below the flight path for aircraft approaching Wellington airport on a southerly bearing.
The cache is located on the northbound flyover bridge to the suburb of Newlands.
DO NOT park near the GZ, the cache should only be accessed by foot or bicycle. A good spot for parking can be found at S 41° 13.896 E 174° 48.719, but please be careful crossing the road at peak times. You can also park in Johnsonville and walk back. There are excellent footpaths all the way to the GZ, don't be tempted with shortcuts.
The cache is a micro and contains a log sheet and pencil only. Please replace the cache exactly as you find it to prevent from being muggled.
