Traditional cache hidden in the lovely downland dry valleys (that we call Rabbit Round) that lead from the Ridgeway to the picturesque ancient village of Bishopstone. Cache can be found via only a short walk from the village centre or can be a part of a lovely circular walk of 2.5miles duration that takes in two dry valleys and a part of the Ridgeway Trail.
A couple of footpaths lead to this area and both provide easy access to the cache and the beautiful countriside that surrounds the village. One starts opposite Prebendal Farm (nr West End Lane/Icknield Way junction) the other starts at the foot of Nell Hill (above the houses on your right going up the hill). The latter has the easier roadside parking. If you plan to have a refreshing drink after the hunt then of course the Royal Oak pub car park is a convenient starting point too for this cache. If you do park at the pub I would encourage a short walk around the cute village duck pond as you start your search !
The cache is a relatively flat walk of ~1/2 mile each way from either start point but can be extended to become a lovely 2.5 mile walk by taking one of the dry valleys up to The Ridgeway trail walking along the Ridgeway to the next dry valley and returning by that valley to the village. Suggest you start up the right hand dry valley (combe) for easiest route finding - keep heading up hill to the Ridgeway !
This is a standard plastic container 6x4x2" containing several child friendly swap items.
