Geocache Description:

This multi(5km), starting from the Fuussheck/Fousheck, leads you uphill round Medernach past a formerly Roman alley, farms and some more interesting places.

You can easily link it with Mahn - Dank - und - Denkmal(GC26NFC). When the sky is clear, you can enjoy a wide view.

The Fuussheck area, not far away from regions formerly called Dännewee and the Fällebierg, has always been a mysterious and rather dark nook Wou d'Fiiss an d'Huesen sech gudd Nuecht soen. Before WWII, when there was still much life in this town, there have been many strange people round this area. The house which you can see rather at the beginning of the tour has ounce, many decades ago, been inhabitated by an old lady called d'Fuussheckesch Kätt who always sneaked around her house and which made, together with the old cot in the forest, the impression of Hänsel an d'Gréidel.
Here also always passed Jee's Néckel before Christmas to look for some work and to sleep in a barn during the cold season. Children and many women were afraid of him as he looked like the Houseker with his long dark beard and his dark, strange and mysterious appearance. He came from an intellectual family but lived isolated from them in the woods, under rocks. His real name was Nicolas Medernach and he was killed in 1943 due to the decision of Hitler to erase all 'asocial elements'.
Another weard figure was d'Gréiwe Marie who used this passage to get from the farms around to the village and the Jangeli to go to the market. She always appeared in sundayclothes and weared a long black cloak and a black hat, no matter which season it was. All in all she seemed quite beastly, with crimpy hair under her chin, neither washed nor combed. She had the tic to pull her shoulder to her earlope when she talked to somebody.
After all this area never seemed very kosher, additionally because in the house in the Fuussheck were hidden some luxembourgish guys during the war which therefore caused stealthy behaviour and doing.

This cache is completly children friendly, but a little strenuous. When you have a good endurance, you can also cache by Mountainbike. It should take you 2 1/2 hour to find the final by foot.

You don't need to significantly leave a path.

At some WPs a bit stealth is required. Close the film cans correctly and leave the pen in the box. -no logs in Dutch, etc. Thanks

Photos(not of WPs/Final) are welcome

Have fun!
