Geocache Description:

The cache is put around the Taiheizan Miyoshi Shrine Hiro-omote Company.

The Miyoshi Shrine is a shrine of which the icon is the spiritual mountain Mt. Taihei (3,842ft). On most of shrines in Japan, movable or artificial things (such as stones, statues, etc.) are their icons but this shrine so this shrine is established before the Shinto is unified and formalized. The history tells that this shrine is established in 7c. There're other companies of this shrine and one of them is at the top of Mt. Taihei. From this company at Hiro-omote, we can see the whole Mt. Taihei on clear days.

On new year days, many people visits there and the number of the people is No. 1 in Akita prefecture. Also famous of the "Bonden Festival" (Jan. 17th). People dedicates beautiful offerings for the festival. On these seasons, the shrine is full of muggle, please take care.

The cache is a tupperware of 3'' x 4'' x 2'', put somewhere around the shrine and, of course, you can see Mt. Taihei from the point.

太平山三吉神社は、秋田市内のどこからでも望める霊峰、太平山 (1,171m) そのものをご神体とする神社です。特定の石や像をご神体としない自然信仰の一種であることから、神道が形式化する以前からこの地でひとびとに信仰されていたことがわかります。一説には1300年ほどの歴史があるといわれています。もちろん太平山にも頂上付近に奥宮があるのですが、広面のこの地にある社からは、晴れた日には太平山が美しく一望できます。

初詣に訪れるひとが秋田県で一番多い神社です。また1月17日の梵天祭では、美しい梵天(ぼんでん)が奉納されます。これらの時期は人で賑わうので、マグルに十分気をつけてください。

キャッシュは5cm×7.5cm×10cmのタッパーで、三吉神社周囲のどこかにあります。もちろん太平山が一望できる場所でしょう。
