Geocache Description:

So, cruising around the area looking for churches for the God's Country series (yep, new ones are coming...) and on the map is something I've never noticed before. Located 2 miles south-east of Sandy Lake is a 'Recreation Area' marked on the map. Well, we just had to check it out. There is no markings at the approach and no signs of any kind in the area, but it looks like the County was going to develope this into a campground at one time. Now it looks like it is just used by the local kids as a party place. Hard to tell how much water is in the 'lake' since it is still frozen and snow covered but looks like it might be nice. Sandy lanes and what looks like quad or walking trails cut into the bush. Might make a nice place to stop and picnic.

Since I haven't come across this type of thing in my travels before, I thought it deserved a cache. The container is a small tupperware type. A modest bush-push is required, but very short.

Also of note is Sandy Lake. Although there is no water here anymore, it is worth a drive around if you are here doing the cache. Pretty campground and some lovely cabins to the west of the campground. On a personal note - when the first 5 or so cabins were built many years ago, my parents were the realtors for them. I remember spending the weekend up there while they had open houses at the cabins. We made good friends with a lovely couple who purchased a cabin and still live there today!
