If you place it, they will come. Cache can be reached with a short hike, and one small ankle-deep water crossing, but would probably be a lot easier by kajak. Park at the nearby apartment complex and follow the dead end street to the stone dike around the retention pond. The bank parking lot or the Research Forest roadway seem much closer but waist deep water lies between you and the cache.
This cache is a replacement for Lake Woodlands Mud Hole which we tried to adopt when it got archived. My wife went with me the first time we found it but refused to go back when I decided to replace the cache. The hike to the cache is a lot more difficult if there have been recent rains since the GZ is in the flood plain of Lake Woodlands. Deer, beavers, lizards, hogs and a variety of snakes have been spotted in the area.
