Geocache Description:

Located at the side of a rural road used by local cyclists primarily on Saturday mornings. The cache is at a small rise, called Angel Tree Hill, where slow cyclists (like DrJinx) often get "dropped" from the faster group.

Take a good look at the tree near Ground Zero, and see if you can figure out how the Angel Tree got its name.

Cache is a matchstick container covered in camouflage tape. Watch out for poison ivy and critters.

This cache is available for adoption -- the owners have moved out of state. If interested, send the owner a note, and you will be sent an adoption request.

Nearly every Saturday morning in good weather DrJinx tries to make it to the Angel Tree and beyond with her cycling pals who do the Flagpole Ride out of College Station. For more information on cycling in College Station and the area visit the Brazos Valley Cyclists webpage.

DrJinx introduced Stirius83 to group riding by taking him out with her on her tandem on the Flagpole ride. The Angel Tree is considered par for the course for cyclists that are capable of handling the Flagpole Ride but not at the most elite and competitive level. DrJinx is one of these, but it turns out Stirius83 can hang with the fast crowd.

The tree is about 13 miles in to the ride, and about 5 miles past the point where the pace starts to heat up. The bike ride continue on to Caldwell on FM166 or Cook's Point by turning right on FM1362. The faster, hard-core crowd goes in to Caldwell, and the slower group usually goes to Cook's Point.

The cache contains some small items of cycling shwag, including a presta valve extender, bicycle pin (intended for the FTF), and some Brazos Valley Cyclists business cards.

Congrats to Agnav for FTF!
