Cartoon Cache is near Allen Dam Pond in Walpole, within the Spring Brook Conservation Area. There is a very small, gravel parking area at the junction of Stone and Washington Streets. From there, it’s an easy climb up the grass-covered dam to a spectacular view of the pond below. Consider bringing a camera along to capture the beautiful vista!
My son and I wanted to make a fun, cartoon-related cache for kids to enjoy. We are requesting that only cartoon and comic related items be traded as swag. Please sign the log book and re-hide the cache as well, or even better than you found it.
Allen Dam Pond is a favorite location for walking dogs, fishing and ice skating. There are usually people in the area, so please use discretion when revealing and re-hiding the cache. This cache is an ammo box and was initially stuffed with lots of fun cartoon items and toys. (On occasion, we load the cache box with some fun things and encourage others to do so too. Kids just love cool swag!)
It's five minutes from car to cache, and no significant bushwacking is required. There is some tall grass at times. This location also presents a good opportunity for "Cache-In/Trash Out."
