A beautiful island-like setting in the Saint John River. Many's a time we drove my wife's mother out here from Woodstock to take in the peaceful setting and check on some relatives' grave sites on a Sunday afternoon.
This place also has a legend about a spurned lover who shot his beloved and her new husband as they left the church's doorway. Whether or not it is a true story, it makes for an interesting visit for one's imagination when you see the beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
Another point of interest here is the bird life. In particular there is an osprey nest close by the church.
