Geocache Description:

This is our first cache to hide and it is dedicated to my Mom and Dad who traveled in all fifty states never having the chance to Geocache. I know they would have loved caching as they always picked up treasures along the way. Dad always wondered about this site and remarked about it every time we went by. This is a quiet neighborhood. Not many muggles, but be stealthy. You will not need to go on private property. You can park on a street nearby and walk to the site.

The cache contains a log only. BYOP FTF gets a 2 dollar bill and you can take the newly launched travel bug if you like. CONGRATULATIONS TO MRBILLMC (AKA 4EVER&THENSOME) FOR FTF... AND A FIRST FTF AT THAT. CACHE ON!! The answer to the cache question from our friend Brucacuda: This cache is on Bishop St., which was named after my great-grandfather, William “Daddy Bill” Bishop, the first mayor of Justin and one of the town’s founding forefathers. I never knew Daddy Bill because he died long before I was born, but legend has it that my great-great-grandparents were traveling down the Chisholm Trail in a chuck wagon way back in 1871 when suddenly they were ambushed by vicious Cherokee Indians. My great-great-grandmother was 9 months pregnant with Daddy Bill when this happened. In order to elude the brutal Cherokees, they hightailed off the trail and managed to make it to this very spot, and it was under this very tree (well, not this tree – the original tree died and this one was plated in its place) that Daddy Bill Bishop was born. Of course, they stayed in the area and began to build the town here. Anyway, I could go on and on about the man himself because as I said – he was a town legend. But the main thing you should know is, once Daddy Bill started building the roads around Justin, he refused to cut down the very tree he was born under and instead he left the tree in the middle of the road here and there you have it. Now you know.
