If you travel into the Moshannon State Forest on the Quehanna Highway coming from Medix Run Pa. You will pass Ardell Rd on the
right side of the road , Stop when you reach the Benezette Compressor Station. Park near here.
It's a short hike along the pipe line or the game line. The game line is the survey line with all the trees painted with white spots,.
You will be walking the pipe line the whole way in unless you choose to bush whack it. I recommend the pipe line in warm weather.
I have never seen a timber rattler in Quehanna in my 25 or so years of hunting there. But I do know they're there. Use caution, wear Orange in Hunting Season.
When I 1st started hunting in the area, deer were plentiful. Now it's almost impossible to find one unless your traveling the highway just before dark.
I parked near the Oak Circle Camp, you can also park at 41* 15.080 / 078* 20.359.
Take the pipe line, or the state game line just behind the camp. The game line is painted white. This line will lead you to within 20 yards of the cache.
You can bush whack from the gravel pit just down the road if you want, but the pipe line is recommended.
