Berta's Addiction
Poor Berta! She has a serious problem. The first step, as with any
serious addiction, is to admit that there is a problem … we
haven’t reached that stage yet. Berta’s addiction comes
at any time of the day…and in front of the children she
teaches! Tsk, tsk, Berta.
We’ve tried to tell her, “Berta…all things in
moderation.” She pretends to hear us, but we hear the creak
of the tin as she turns her back on us. Berta clearly does not
understand the concept.
We are hopeful, that with immediate intervention, we will be able
to reach Berta. With a positive outlook, we send out this prayer to
Berta:
Berta’s Serenity Prayer
God GRANT Berta the serenity to accept
the things she cannot change;
the courage to change the things she can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
